Interior Trend: Chesterfield sofa

Lately I have noticed that there is a new interior trend… many modern big sofas are exchanged for a classical English and more cosy chesterfield sofa. Traditionally chesterfield sofas are made of leather and are more masculine and formal, but you can soften them with fluffy and bright pillows or blankets.  You can also get more modern or customized chesterfield sofas made of plush which will make your room more warm and inviting. I must say I really like this trend, because it brings back some traditional Victorian vibe in to home but it still looks quite modern.

Great Expectations

spring-sleeping beautyPicture via Deprincessed.

This is how spring looks at the moment…

It looks faded or just like a sleeping beauty that we all are waiting it to wake up.

Rain, wind and cold just don’t want to give up this year…

I’m in great expectations of a spring, flowers warm sun and singing birds on the blossoming trees.

I hope the world didn’t get mad and decided to cancel spring for this year.

I suppose my hands will have to stay cold for a little bit longer this year,

but my heart will stay worm in expectation of a warm spring.

Apartment is one big open space full of interesting decorating details. Grey colour of concrete and metal bring industrial feeling and a bit colder vibe in to apartment. Upholstered comfortable chairs, wooden celling brings warmth and cosine to this apartment.  To read more about this lovelyindustrial-chic home go to CasaVogue. Read the rest of this entry →

Inspiration: The Birthstones by Elisa Werbler

I have a little obsession with crystals and stones and I’m always looking for an interesting shape or colour. A few days ago I found Elisa Werbler print art collection Birthstones. I love how some of the shapes subtly overlap. Each print uses only five colours, so where you see overlapping, you will notice new colours emerge. Each print represents a different birthstone, from the purple Amethist to the charming green Peridot. Read the rest of this entry →

Design by Novogratz

All interior enthusiasts probably know TV show “9 By Design” and their hosts Cortney and Bob Novogratz. I can still remember how I used to watch their show and dream about becoming an interior designer. Their design is unique and they always make you think outside the box. Novogratz are never too shy to use crazy bright colours and when it comes to furniture they always create a perfect mix between vintage and modern furniture. Some people dislike their aesthetic and the fact that they are self-thought designers, but I can say that they are definitely unique and when you get familiar with their story (they have 7 kids) you start to appreciate them even more.

London Calling

I never get tired of these beautiful London townhouses. Here is another that lies in the heart of historical part of London. “A late-Georgian stucco mansion is not an obvious home for a collection of cutting-edge art and design—but this London residence comes with a historic connection to the avant-garde. In 1913, at the same address, leading society hostess Lady Hamilton created a showcase for the Bloomsbury Group’s newly established design collective, the Omega Workshops (the critic Roger Fry advised her on the decor, and Virginia Woolf’s sister Vanessa Bell was among the contributing artists). So it is entirely appropriate that, a century later, the property’s present owner—a Hong Kong–based art collector with strong ties to several European museums and galleries—has reintroduced a forward-thinking aesthetic to the place, this time with a wide-ranging international selection of pieces by designers like Mattia Bonetti and Martin Szekely and such artists as Adam Fuss, Gabriel Kuri, Fiona Rae, Anselm Reyle, and Keith Tyson.” To read more about this lovely home go to AD.

Home Sweet Home: Modern scandinacian home

Clean lines and white rooms with modern and retro furniture elements are a perfect combination of old and new, which is basic in designing a timeless Scandinavian home. I just love this modern scandinacian home, especially because of amazing birch-patterned wallpaper from Cole & Son in the living room.
