Bag Beastly_2

Bag Beastly was my project back in 2012 when I was studying in Belgium. The whole idea was to redesign any object from a second hand shop in to a piece of furniture or any kind of useful object.

B&B in Grey and White

November 6, 2013 in Architecture, Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room

B&B Grey an White 1Combination of grey and white color is at the moment one of my favorite. If you use this two colors in interior it can be quite dull and cold looking, but you can always soften and warm up the interior by using different textures and instead of white concrete or plaster walls you can use white whashed wood and different furry carpets or blanckets. Forest Cafe in Tokyo

Forest Cafe in Tokyo2

I’m always amazed by Japanese design, which is usually easy to spot, because it looks effortless, elegant with clean lines, minimalistic, perfectly and cleverly designed. This cute forest cafe in Tokyo is a good example of a now days typical Japanese design. It is called “ki-cafe”, which translates to tree. Read the rest of this entry →

Home Sweet Home: Retro Atrium House in Berlin

I just love mid-century modernism which can be quite beautiful. Many people don’t like it, but for me it brings out the nostalgia and the most important fact is that it was a time of great experimentation with new materials. At its best, the style highlights sleek, clean lines, a wonderful sense of setting, and a wonderful use of light which is also well seen in this beautiful house in Berlin. This modernistic house was built in 1957 as part of building exhibition in Berlin’s Tiergarten Park, by Eduard Ludwig, who among other things also designed the airlift monument at Tempelhof airport. House has been beautifully renovated back to its former glamour with help of bfs architects. Read the rest of this entry →

Home Sweet Home: Melbourne Residence

August 12, 2013 in Architecture, Bath Room, Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Workspace

Who would have thought that this home is actually Edwardian house and not some kind of 21. century modern architectural residence. In 2012 it had a total interior renovation throughout by mim design. On their internet site they have stated “Use of base colors and materials that were clean, warm and neutral revived the existing interior. Custom designed built form joinery as well as furniture melded to create a comfortable relaxing feel. Clever use of working within the existing architecture was well considered throughout.” To read more about this beautiful Melbourne residence click here.

Italian Vacation Home1

This Italian vacation home is a pure poetry of space and perfect mixture of modern design in 17th-century oil mill in Salento near to Milan. Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba are owners of this inspiring retreat who are also acclaimed Italian designers. The couple says they often spend their summers away at their retreat, an architectural utopian of sorts, and many a weekend during the rest of the work year. You can read more about this amazing Italian vacation home here.

Pastel Shabby Chic

July 24, 2013 in Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room

Have you ever heard about shabby chic? I think it is one of the most popular interior trends at the moment. So how to explain this trend… Well wiki definition says “Shabby chic (pronounced: “sheek”) is a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor.” Read the rest of this entry →

I L.O.V.E.: Concrete Wallpaper

November 18, 2012 in Bed Room, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Workspace

Picture via Concrete Wall.

Concrete wallpaper can transform your walls into an entirely new and tough look. Because of its rustic look and soft shades of grey colours you can use it in almost every room, like for example in living room to create more industrial effect or kitchen to bring some elegance. Concrete wallpaper is printed in super high resolution on heavy-duty wallpaper with paper top-layer and membrane backing, colourfast and washable with a soft cloth.

All thought this concrete wallpaper can create an excellent “wow” factor in you room you have to be really careful because it won’t work with every interior, but if you manage to add enough colour and some matching furniture pieces to your place, you can make it look outstanding.
