Fade Into You by Pierre Debusschere

Fashion film “Fade into you” is the newest project by Pierre Debusschere. He stated: “The inspiration starting point (for the shoot) was Raf Simons’ last Jil Sander show and the amazing flower installation that Mark Colle designed for it, so it was really important for Robbie and I to have Mark with us on this project. We also took the inspiration further by developing the idea of the femininity in flowers. For sure there is some romantic aspect, but flowers can also be sensual, seductive, empowering, heady, but poisonous too… I was very happy with Zuzanna as she was the perfect model to give us a wide range of poses and expressions in relation to the styling and the flowers. I wanted the music to reflective too of the variety of character a flower can have, you have the lyrics that show you the softer side (voice Oriane Leclercq) and the music which for me is as seductive as a dark orchid.” I must say this is one of the most inspiring fashion videos I have ever seen and I just love the combination of human and nature (flower) sensuality.

Blackfield

I just love this field of flowers. This installation is called Blackfield and contains up to 20.000 steel etched flowers deriving from 19th Century Victorian encyclopaedias. The work reflects over notions such as perception and perspective, and in its delicate modesty the installation brings up powerful questions regarding life and death.

Paper and Glue

When was the last time I did a collage? Hmm, I have no idea. This beautiful art from Valeria Alevra reminded me that you can make simple and amazing art with some old magazine and newspaper pictures and glue. She described herself as an old school, paper and glue, collage artist. Here collages are beautiful compositions of flowers and old black and white photos.

Well there has been quite a big buzz about new Christian Dior’s fashion show in Paris, for fall/winter 2012 couture collection. The collection is amazing, I don’t have anything bad to say about it, but what amazed me when I first saw the pictures from the fashion show was the decoration of the show.
