HUMLEBAEK HOUSE – Scandinavian timeless design

November 10, 2012 in Architecture, Bath Room, Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Workspace

This is a perfect example of Scandinavian timeless design. Clean lines and spaces with some modern furniture elements, concrete floor and rustic old wood, old brick walls, old ceiling beams represent a perfect combination of old and new, which is basic in designing a timeless Scandinavian home. I love home bright and light are spaces with some softer and warmer elements as wood and black details.

House of colours

October 18, 2012 in Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Workspace

This home is a real house of colours. Owners are a young family which decided to decorate their home with bright colours. They have used colour blocking on the celling and floor. Pink floor in kitchen and green celling are just amazing and I love the idea of picking up different tips of furniture which add some more colour in to the space.

White, off-white, cream, beige, ivory, eggshell…

This is one more creation of Benjamin Noriega Ortiz, who has somehow also been proclaimed as a king of white spaces. He managed to mix shades of white, off-white, cream, beige, ivory and eggshell colours in to cosy and chick living space. It reminds me off a Hollywood style home full of luxury and high-end furniture’s, fabrics and decoration elements.

English style country cottage

September 19, 2012 in Bath Room, Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Outdoor, Workspace

This beautiful English style country cottage was built by M. J.Murphy in the 1920‘s. It was during the 1920’s that the bright young architect designed and sold Carmel houses for just $100. Today at 92 year old, it wears its age well and it could cost you lots of money. What I love about this house is the original character with just right amount of modern comfort. Rooms are light and filed with natural light. Wooden furniture and fabrics with soft patterns bring coziness and warmth to each room. I can see myself seating next to the fire place with some hot chocolate and reading a book.

Home sweet home: Danish island house

August 17, 2012 in Architecture, Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Kitchen, Living Room, Outdoor, Workspace

I don’t know much about Danish traditional architecture, but when I saw this old Danish island house I just feel in love. Combination of old and new elements is just perfect. White dominates the space and at the moments it feels a bit cold but whitened wooden floors, worn out furniture and red brick details bring softens and just enough of warmth to the space. Thatched roof makes the hose looks like it is from the fairy tales and I just love it.

Lancaster House

August 2, 2012 in Bed Room, Furniture, Home Decor, Living Room, Workspace

Lee Broom is a Hackney designer who was nominated for a British Design Award in 2011. These pictures are his latest project. He has filled a room, called Gold Room, in a London Lancaster House (British Business Embassy) with studded furniture to host visiting business leaders during the Olympic Games. I just love the combination of nineteenth century room design and new modern furniture design.
